Patrick J. Adams and Troian Bellisario had a camping-themed wedding
If you’re going to have a destination wedding in December, it helps if you have a.) celebrity friends, b.) a wedding venue located in warm California. Yes, while most of us are freezing our tushes off and scrambling to get our Christmas shopping done, some of Hollywood’s beautiful people got together for a weekend long camping trip, chilling out and witnessing a beautiful wedding.
The wedding, held on Saturday, joined Suits star Patrick J. Adams and Pretty Little Liars‘ Troian Bellisario in holy matrimony. The two entertained 200 guests in sunny southern California’s for a bohemian, camping-themed wedding as part of a weekend celebration dubbed Fort Day. Guests included Patrick’s Suits co-star Sarah Rafferty, PLL‘s Keegan Allen, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. And, of course, the festivities were shared with the world via social media.
On Friday, Patrick kicked off the weekend by posting a picture with his soon-to-be wife in front of a bus sporting the sign “Almost Married” with the caption, “It begins…”
That night, Patrick entertained the guests after the rehearsal dinner with some music. PLL’s Luli Brud posted a picture from the mini-concert, which included a performance of Bright Eyes’ “First Day of My Life.” The hopeless romantic in me thinks this is so sweet.
On the big day, Troian posted a photo of the camp site, which screams “glamping” to me, with the caption, “Today’s the day. And what a glorious day it is.” If I could camp like this, I think I would.
Despite the unconventional setting, it was a pretty standard wedding. Troian wore a lovely sleeveless white wedding gown. I think the gold crown was a little much, but I do like the dress. Patrick wore a suit and tie. Friend Zachary Quinto shared a photo of the couple dancing with the sweet sentiment, “so inspired by my dear friends consecrating their love with grace and style. deeply moved by their commitment to truth and to each other. may their road ahead be full of joy and peace and freedom.” Beats a long-ass toast, huh?
In keeping with the outdoorsy-ness of the event, the couple encouraged their guest to donate to Canadian-based environmental charity, the David Suzuki Foundation, and the SickKids Hospital instead of getting them something from a Target registry.
The 31-year-old actress and her 35-year-old husband met back in 2009 when working on the play Equivocation together. They were engaged in 2014. It’s refreshing that they actually didn’t rush to the altar. And, what about this wedding? Is it a little too twee, or is it just different enough to be cool? It doesn’t seem to be overly hipster, it looked like a fun time, and God knows I’ve been to a lot of weddings. This has got to beat yet another evening of the Cha Cha Slide and the Chicken Dance, right? Regardless, congrats to the happy couple.
